Trigg boosts antimony strategy with new board appointment
Australia-headquartered Trigg Minerals on Monday announced the appointment of former Mandalay Resources and Rio Tinto executive Chris Gregory as nonexecutive director in a move to fast-track its US antimony strategy.
Gregory's appointment is effective from Monday and Bishoy Habib has resigned as part of the transition.
Trigg said Gregory brought more than 30 years of global mining and leadership experience to the board and that it expected him to play a key role in fast-tracking development of the Antimony Canyon project (ACP) in Utah and Trigg’s downstream antimony strategy in the US.
He was VP exploration and geology at Mandalay Resources from 2009 to 2022. He was instrumental in the success of the Costerfield mine in Victoria, which is Australia’s only producing antimony/gold mine.
Gregory was also an executive general manager of Rio Tinto Asia.
Trigg Minerals MD Andre Booyzen said Gregory's “deep technical knowledge, leadership and global perspective" would help Trigg accelerate its strategy to become a leading US-based antimony producer and processor.
"I worked with Chris for more than eight years and welcome his guidance and experience to the board of Trigg. I believe he will make an immediate positive impact."
Trigg also thanked Habib for his contributions as a director.
